What is a Driving Licence — and Who Can Get One?

A driving licence gives you the freedom to drive independently. In Denmark, you can start lessons for a Category B car licence when you are 17 years old. Theory lessons can begin from 16 years and 9 months.

  • Be at least 17 years old and have an approved supervisor until 18.
  • Complete the mandatory first aid course, if required.
  • Obtain a valid medical certificate.
  • Pass both the theory and practical driving tests.

English theory lessons are offered every Sunday at 16:00. English-speaking students can also attend Monday and Friday theory classes, where instructors can assist in English.
